But behind this picture-perfect scene, there’s a reality that’s often overlooked: homelessness in our community is growing.  That’s where Camps Bay Cares comes in, a campaign launched by the [Camps Bay CID](https://campsbaycid.org/) in partnership with [ignisive](https://ignisive.com/?utm_source=ig&utm_medium=social&utm_content=link_in_bio&fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQMMjU2MjgxMDQwNTU4AAGnToR6jrqsvFuLnzvtxJCP26kSf0izeGm3GJ8lVSrpd5Keq8MJGAQ34AeanmM_aem_IpZqcdcw6MclKPf1VhmVdw), focused on creating real change for people living on the streets. **In this blog, we cover:** - **The Impact So Far**: How many people have been placed in safe shelters, reunited with families, and supported off the streets. - **Why Camps Bay Cares**: Understanding why traditional handouts often fail to create lasting change. - **Give Smart Today, Help Build Tomorrow**: How this community-driven campaign channels generosity into life-changing solutions. - **Why It Matters**: The tangible difference smart giving makes in people’s lives and the wider community. - **How You Can Help**: Practical ways to support the campaign and contribute to long-term change. ## The Impact So Far Camps Bay Cares is already making a measurable difference. On average, 10 people each month are placed into safe shelters. Over half of the individuals (55%) have been successfully reunited with their families. Every street child in the focus area has been assisted off the streets, and through RSDP, every mother with a baby has been reintegrated into a safe environment. These numbers aren’t just statistics; they are stories of lives being rebuilt. ## Why Camps Bay Cares Camps Bay is celebrated for its beauty and community spirit, but homelessness remains a pressing issue. Handouts, while well-intentioned, often keep people trapped in a cycle on the streets. Camps Bay Cares, spearheaded by the Camps Bay CID in partnership with ignisive, focuses on a smarter approach that empowers people with skills, work opportunities, and dignity, allowing them to rebuild their lives in a sustainable way. ## Give Smart Today, Help Build Tomorrow This campaign, Give Smart Today, Help Build Tomorrow, is the heart of Camps Bay Cares. By channelling the generosity of the community into structured support, the initiative provides training, work readiness programmes, and opportunities for people transitioning out of homelessness. Instead of temporary relief, donations create real, lasting change. ### Why It Matters Smart giving doesn’t just help individuals, it transforms communities. Through this campaign, people are moved off the streets and into safe shelters.
