Cape Winelands Cycling Trails: The Best Mountain Biking Routes from Franschhoek to Paarl

There’s something magical about exploring the Cape Winelands on a bicycle; the gentle hum of tyres on dirt, the scent of fynbos and oak trees, and the promise of a wine-soaked lunch waiting at the end of the trail. Mountain-biking has always been big in the Cape, and the best part is, you don’t have to be an avid cyclist or outdoors enthusiast to join in.

Whether you’re a foodie, a family on an adventure, or a nature lover looking to explore, the wine routes of the Western Cape offer some of the most scenic (and rewarding) rides in the world.

In this blog, we cover:

Franschhoek: Breathtaking trails through vineyards at Boschendal and Berg River Dam.
Stellenbosch: Adventure and challenge at Muratie, Jordan, and Helderberg Farm.
Paarl: Family-friendly rides and stunning scenery at Spice Route and Rhebokskloof.
Bikes ‘n Wines Tours: Guided cycling adventures through the Winelands and beyond.
