In 2012, the #lovecapetown blogger hosting programme contributed to Cape Town Tourism winning a Travel + Leisure SMITTY Award (Social Media in Travel + Tourism Awards) in the category Best Overall Use of Social Media and we were very proud to be a part of the process, having hosted some fantastic bloggers at our Gorgeous Apostle's Edge.
This year we had the privilege of hosting some interesting personalities from different corners of the world as well as some local favorites. The first to arrive was Abigail King from Inside The Travel Lab (UK), she is a phenomenal travel and lifestyle blogger, you can follow her on twitter @insidetravellab .
Abi stayed at Ocean's View in upper Sea Point for her first couple of days in Cape Town. The reason we chose Ocean's View for Abi was to give her the opportunity to experience how a local Capetonian would live here in Cape Town, also offering a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Seaboard. She was then joined by our very own Mzansi Girl, Meruschka @MzansiGirl and Carol T. More from Follow the Colours (Brazil) @follow_colours .
The three of them spent a couple of nights in Six Selbourne before moving over to Hamaya in Camps Bay. Abi has a fresh and honest style and what she has written about South Africa so far is optimistic and colorful, definitely worth a read - I had a proud swell in my chest reading about the diversity that Cape Town displays and how our city represents the rest of our country.
We would be very glad to have Abi back in Cape Town and we look forward to reading about her future adventures.
