Top sundowner spots in Cape Town

As we wade into glorious warm summer in Cape Town, locals and tourists alike look for a spot to quench their thirst at the end of a blissful summers day. There are few pleasures more satisfying than sipping on a fine Chardonnay or a colour pop sugar surged something, while a magnificent sunset is painted in the skies above you.Here followsourtop spots for sundowners at the end of a sizzling hot summers day in Cape Town.   

Camps Bays Seaside Strip
The palm-lined strip of Camps Bay is very likely the best spot in Cape Town to watch the sun drop into the ocean. The strip also happens to be the natural habitat of Cape Town's young, rich and sexy, so be ready for some prime "people watching". Camps Bay is littered with great little bars and restaurants but here are some suggestions to get you started; Caprice, Paranga, Zenzero and Hard Rock cafe.

Sea Point and Mouille Point
For a more laid-back atmosphere you could head just around the corner from Camps Bay to Sea Point and Mouille Point for a lazy stroll along the promenade and a cold Glass if wine. Look out for the following spots; Winchester Mansions Hotel, La Vie Cafe, Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel (great live jazz on some evenings), Wafu (great sushi), The Grand at the Beach in Granger Bay.

Blouberg
However if you'd like to slip out from under the mountain and get a better look at it from Blouberg you'll find relaxed beach side watering holes with sublime panoramic views of Table Mountain, Robben Island and the endless Atlantic ocean. You need to visit On the Rocks (right on the waters edge) and Blue Peter.

False Bay
If you head around to false bay, you may not be able to see the sun setting on the sea, but thats no reason not to have a drink at any of the following gems; The Brass Bell in Kalk Bay, Polana, Cape to Cuba and Cafe Olympia (best bread in Cape Town.
